Privacy policy

Introduction

This privacy policy applies to the website web-x.dev, operated by David Göschel, a self-employed freelancer. Below, I explain which data is collected during your visit and how it is processed.

Hosting

The website is hosted on an Azure Static Web App, and the domain is managed by IONOS. The hosting provider processes connection data (IP address, timestamp, pages accessed) as part of server operations. No personal data is stored beyond this.

Analytics with Google Analytics and Basic Consent Mode

This website uses Google Analytics 4, a web analytics service provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.

Google Analytics is activated only if you explicitly accept the analytics service in the cookie consent banner. Before consent and after rejection, we do not load the Google Analytics script or send Analytics requests to Google. This is Basic Consent Mode. Stored acceptance also applies to later page loads. Interactions before consent are not replayed.

You can withdraw your consent at any time using the cookie icon at the bottom left. We then stop the website’s analytics events and disable data collection by the loaded Google tag. After rejection has been saved, the page reloads so the previously executed script cannot keep running. Analytics stays blocked on later page loads unless you accept again. Withdrawal does not recall requests already transmitted.

Once consent has been given, Google Analytics transmits the following data:

  • Pages accessed and time spent on them
  • Approximate location (for example, country or region)
  • Device type, operating system and browser
  • Referral source (for example, a search engine or direct entry)

Your IP address is transmitted to Google when the connection is established. According to Google’s regional privacy documentation, Analytics uses IP addresses from the EU, Switzerland and the United Kingdom to derive approximate location data and then discards them before logging or storage. This does not mean the address is truncated before transmission to Google.

Processing is based on your consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR. Information about Google’s data processing is available in the Google privacy policy.

Cookies

This website uses technically necessary cookies to store your choices and, after consent, Google Analytics cookies with the _ga prefix. On withdrawal, the consent manager removes the cookies configured for this service. You can adjust your cookie settings at any time using the cookie icon at the bottom left.

Your rights

You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and data portability. You may also object to processing and withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future. To exercise your rights or ask questions about data protection, please contact:

info@web-x.dev

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent data protection supervisory authority.

Changes to this privacy policy

This privacy policy may be updated to reflect changes in practice or in the legal framework. The date of the current version is stated at the end of the page. Visitors are asked to check this page regularly.
